Lagoon excellence put to the test

Great results for Lagoon catamarans in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers
Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) is the world’s biggest transatlantic rally, where different models perform in an open ocean race. It takes place every year in November since 1986.
Here are some facts on this year’s race
– start on 20 November 2016
– 2700 NM from Las Palmas to St. Lucia
– 212 boats from 31 countries
– 29 multi-hulls
– 14 Lagoons
– finish line closes on 16 December
– award winning ceremony to take place on 17 December 2016
– Ludanka – a Lagoon 620 skippered and owned by David Vaughn is expected to arrive tomorrow to St. Lucia and is currently 3rd in the multihull class and 23rd in total rankings. Let’s not forget that David with his Ludanka joined our very first Adriatic Lagoon Regatta in 2012 and took 3rd place in the second group. So we are keeping our fingers crossed for him and his crew.
ARC+ is another transatlantic rally that has started on 6th November 2016 from Las Palmas via Cape Verdes towards St. Lucia. 72 boats have participated in this 2800 NM rally. Among them 11 multi-hulls with 7 Lagoons. 55 boats have already been officially welcomed to the Rodney Bay Marina in St. Lucia with rum punches, fresh fruits and cold beers. The finish line closes tomorrow and the award winning ceremony takes place on Wednesday 7 December 2016.
These excellent results of Lagoon catamarans come as no surprise to multi-hull connoisseurs since the 4th generation of the Lagoons brings many changes to their design that increases their performance.
